Experts say a reported UFO sighting in Norway was probably an electrocuted cat.
Nice surprise last night...went to see a collection of what I though was just some local punk bands out at a local watering hole and got to see a kickass band from California called The Smut Peddlers. The sound could have been better (couldn't hear the vocalist at all most fo the time, too bad 'cause he sounded great when you could) but they really were excellent. What the hell they were doing in Bloomsburg playing at Romig's Cafe is a bit beyond my comprehension...although we do have quite a few good punk bands lurking about the area and there a small "scene" that's grown around them. They used to do quite a few showcases around here some years back but it kinda died out, nice to see that my friend Jason Lingo is getting things going again.
Big thanx to my friend Mike for the heads up on this little bundle of insanity...it had me in stitches. It is not safe for kids, work or Mormons...but it really isn't all that bad either. It merely has dozens of sex toys and the lyrics to the song utilize nearly every euphimism and pun you can readily think of involving dildos - all set to the tune of the Slinky Song. It's a pretty hefty download at 3.6megs but if you've got the time and/or the bandwidth it is pretty darn funny, even if just for the "disclaimer" speech at the end of the whole thing.
As if implanting an entire webserver inside the body of a dead fly wasn't enough, this guy has a few more projects planned out.
Tired of the static guitar, bass, drum and maybe keyboard collections you hear on the radio? Even synthesized music got you down? Then check out the Gallery of Experimental Instruments. Instruments like the bazantar which is just like a 5 string bass, except for the other 33 strings, or the Stalacpipe Organ which allows the musician to play 3 1/2 acres of stalactites are well worth a listen.
